is still existing today and it is striking to me this divide between the perception of michele obama among white women and black women. white women find it appalling she has given up her career to be the first lady. many of my black friends particularly of my generation think it is the most wonderful thing in the world, that he saves her down as it used to be called in the olden days, all women didn't have to be a spinster but in the context of a black man who loves you, this romantic overlay of it, that black women and so rarely seen as beautiful, as lovable, the idea that this symbolic dimension of what michele obama is, clearly adored so much more than all the other first ladies in this very spontaneous lovely way, there's a subtle difference between the way in which black women see her giving up her career that she could do that, and b.a. lady, she is not somebody who is working all the time and our history as we were called a time no matter what. to be able to give that to raise one's children and have one's mother also there is a little bit different, a little bit subtle but powerful
